Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS)
(ALS/Lou Gehrig's Disease) Support Group This group is for patients, families
and friends to learn about ALS and share information. Meetings are held on
the first Saturday of every other month (even months) at 2:00 p.m. For more

Bone Marrow Transplant Support Group
This group is for bone marrow transplant patients in the hospital, their families
and friends. The group provides an opportunity to share concerns and hope,
and meet others experiencing similar treatment and facing similar life challenges.

Brain Tumor Family Support Group
This group is for patients, families and friends to share resources on coping
with brain tumors. Meetings are held the fourth Wednesday of every month in

Breast Cancer Support Group
This group is for patients at any stage of breast cancer. The group meets
the third Monday of each month from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. in the Taussig

Gathering Place
The mission of the Gathering Place is to support, educate and encourage people
working to overcome the effects of cancer in their lives. The Gathering Place
offers a variety of programs and all programs and services are provided free

Radiation Oncology Support Group
This group is for cancer patients receiving radiation therapy, their families
and friends. The group meets Wednesdays at 10:00 a.m. and Thursdays at 1:00
p.m. in the Department of Radiology Oncology located at T28. Contact Nancy

Prostate Cancer Education and Support Program: Man to Man
This American Cancer Society program helps men and their families cope with
prostate cancer. Sessions combine peer support and information presentations.
Monthly sessions are held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Parma Community General
Hospital (the first Thursday of every month), The Gathering Place (the second
Thursday) and Fairview General Hospital (on the fourth Monday). The quarterly
meeting will be held at the American Cancer Society on September 18th at 6:30

Look Good, Feel Better
This program is designed for those with cancer who are undergoing chemotherapy
and/or radiation therapy treatments. Skin care, make-up tips, selection and
care of wigs, and creative ways to wear scarves are some of the topics discussed.
The Cosmetic, Toiletry and Fragrance Association (CTFA), the National Cosmetology
Association (NCA), the American Cancer Society (ACS) and The Cleveland Clinic
Taussig Cancer Center sponsor this program. All participating patients will
receive a complimentary gift bag of skin care and cosmetic products. Meetings
are held the second Monday of every month from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. in The Cleveland
Clinic Taussig Cancer Center, Room R3-002. To register for the program, please

Ostomy Association Support Group
The Cleveland Ostomy Association is hosting meetings on the first Sunday of

Mended Hearts Support Group
This international organization has been in existence for over 50 years and
was formed to help patients with heart disease, their families and other loved
ones. The Greater Cleveland Chapter #138 meets the second Wednesday of every
month at MetroHealth Center. A large group of these heart disease survivors
are trained to visit others with heart disease and their families to provide
information, help and support -- all with doctors' approval. They visit in
many of the local hospitals, including The Cleveland Clinic, and provide follow-up
telephone visits to many of the local patients. For more information, please

Leukemia and Lymphoma Society Monthly Support Groups
For more information about any of the groups listed below, contact Stacey

West Family Support Group This group is for adults who have been diagnosed,
or whose children have been diagnosed, with leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's
disease or myeloma. Adult friends and family members are welcome. This group
meets the first Thursday of each month at the Moll Center.
Life After Transplant The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and The Gathering
Place in Beachwood co-sponsor this quarterly group for adults who have undergone
a bone marrow or stem cell transplant. Participants learn the latest information
and have an opportunity to discuss the unique issues faced by those who have
had a transplant. The group meets quarterly at the Gathering Place. Family
members are welcome.
Hydrocephalus Group
This group is for any adult or pediatric patient affected by hydrocephalus.
Family members are welcome. The group meets every month on a Wednesday at
the Cleveland Clinic Independence Family Health Center from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m.

American Liver Foundation Meetings

Lung Cancer Support Group
The Cleveland Clinic ALCASE Lung Cancer Support Group meets the first Thursday

Lupus Foundation of America Support Group
This is an informal monthly group designed to provide education, information
and support to people with lupus, their families and friends. The group is
funded in partnership with the Ohio Commission on Minority Health. Meetings

Lymphoma Group (Lymphoma PLUS)
This group is for patients with lymphoma, their families and friends. Meetings

This group is for patients with multiple myeloma, their families and friends.

Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Education and Support Groups

Family Caregivers Information and Support Meeting This group is for people
who care for a family member with MS. This group provides an opportunity to
meet others with similar experiences and learn from MS professionals.
MS Couples Group This six-session counseling group is designed for couples
concerned about how their relationship has been or may be affected by MS.
Parenting with Ability and Confidence If you have MS, this group can help
you and your partner become more effective parents. The group meets in four
weekly 90-minute sessions at a time convenient for most participants.
Teen Group For adolescents between ages 13 and 16 whose parents have multiple
sclerosis (MS)
Pancreatic Cancer Support Group
This group is for patients with pancreatic cancer, their families and friends.
The group meets the second Thursday of each month in the Taussig Cancer Center,

Parkinson Educational Program of Cleveland
This educational support group is for people diagnosed with Parkinson's disease,

The Parkinson Educational Program of Cleveland
This educational support group is for people diagnosed with Parkinson's disease,

Pulmonary Fibrosis Support Group
This is a support group for patients, their families, caregivers, and anyone

This group recognizes the role of behavior, attitude, emotion, exercise and
nutrition in adopting and maintaining healthy eating patterns. The group is
conducted by clinicians in the Department of Psychiatry & Psychology.
This group meets Monday mornings from 8:00 – 9:30 a.m. While you may
join this group at any time, you must first schedule and assessment in the
Department of Psychiatry & Psychology. To make an appointment, please

such as self-esteem, assertiveness, relationships and family. The group will
be a place for support and feedback as you work toward your individual goals.
The group is limited to eight members and pre-screening is required. For more
